Welcome to Natasha Scripts.

I’m Natasha Attard, an author and educator with a professional background in law, English Language Arts teaching, university teaching, academic writing, assessment, and educational resource development.

For more than two decades, my work has required careful reading, precise writing, critical thinking, and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly. These experiences continue to shape every English Language Arts resource I create.

My aim is to provide students with focused, meaningful practice while giving teachers, homeschool parents, tutors, and families materials that are clear, structured, and practical to use.

My Background and Why It Matters

My professional background began in law, where I worked as a legal scholar, attorney, university lecturer, examiner, and academic administrator. Alongside this, I have also taught English Language Arts and hold qualifications in both ELA teaching and pedagogy for middle and high school students.

Throughout my career, language has been at the heart of everything I have done. Whether teaching, assessing, writing, or developing educational resources, my work has always centered on helping learners understand and use language with confidence and precision.

Over time, my interest in language, teaching, and curriculum development led me to focus fully on creating practical ELA resources that help students build lasting skills in spelling, vocabulary, grammar, reading, and writing.

Today, Natasha Scripts includes resources for Grades 6 through 12, as well as spelling materials for adult learners.

My Approach to ELA Instruction

My resources are built around the way language skills naturally work together.

Spelling is closely connected to vocabulary, word structure, pronunciation, meaning, and usage. Grammar supports clearer sentences. Reading provides models of effective language. Writing gives students the opportunity to apply what they have learned.

For this reason, my resources regularly combine several related skills. A spelling lesson may also include vocabulary development, sentence writing, proofreading, word analysis, or reading in context. A grammar activity may ask students to improve their own writing rather than simply identify a term.

Students need clear explanations, carefully chosen examples, focused practice, and enough repetition to build confidence. They also need activities that require them to think about how language works.

My goal is to make that practice purposeful without making it overwhelming.

What Guides My Work

Every Natasha Scripts resource begins with the same questions:

  • What does the student genuinely need to understand?
  • Where is the likely point of difficulty?
  • What kind of practice will help the student remember and apply the skill?
  • How can the explanation be made clear without removing the depth of the subject?

I want the resources to be academically sound, but they must also be practical to use. A lesson should not require extensive preparation before a parent or teacher can begin. Instructions should be clear. Examples should have a purpose. Activities should reinforce the skill. Most importantly, students should be able to see that they are making progress.

A Little More About Me

Outside my work, I enjoy reading, writing, cooking, and spending time with my two sons.

I also enjoy long conversations about ideas, education, society, and the questions that shape the way we understand the world.

Nature and animals are an important part of my life. My home is shared with several much-loved cats, hens, and a rooster, all of whom provide companionship, entertainment, and frequent interruptions to the working day.

I also enjoy playing pool. It appeals to the same part of me that values strategy, concentration, accuracy, and thoughtful decision-making.
